Accommodation is one of our biggest fixed costs and reducing that cost can lead to big savings! Therefore, we use the following resources below when booking accommodations around the world. Many of the links below are affiliate links. If you click the link and book accommodation, we will get a small commission. We’re hoping that you’ll use these links every time you need to book accommodation. These small commissions help us stay on the road longer. Which means we’ll be able to upload more vlogs. We only recommend things we use and think are valuable!
AIRBNB
We love Airbnb and it is our number one platform for booking accommodations. Airbnb allows you to rent from a wide range of houses, apartments or rooms. We have used Airbnb in over 5 years and 25+ countries. We’ve had incredible experiences (typically) every time! Most of our accommodations are apartments because we love having our own kitchen and bathroom.
If you’ve never signed up for Airbnb before, you can sign up using our link below. You’ll get $55 off your first rental, and we’ll get $20 off our next one. It’s a win-win! Love those!

Booking.com is our next go to the platform for booking accommodations. We are always looking for a cheap place to stay in a city (Which we stay in depending on what country); I use the following strategy to find cheap but comfortable accommodation. These filters are on the left-hand side of the search results page. After the filters below have been added, I’ll start going down the list to find our stay.
- Search for hotels in the city we’ll be visiting
- Sort the results by price (from lowest to highest)
- Filter by specific accommodation you want. Example, beachfront, all-inclusive, swimming pool, etc.
- Filter by star ratings of 4 and 5
- Filter by property type: Hotel, apartments, guest house, etc.
- Filter by number of beds, we always select 1+ bed
- Filter out all hotels that have a rating lower than a 7
- Filter out all hotels that don’t have free wifi and fitness center (if something you interested in)
Use Booking.com to book your next accommodation. Please click the link to start your search now. Remember, if you complete a booking with our link, we will get a small commission from Booking.com! It doesn’t cost you extra, and we get petty cash added to our travel fund. Thanks.
Agoda is our second favorite hotel search engine. It is very easy to navigate. I love using their map feature. Which displays the pricing of accommodation on the map. When you click on the price, you will get a sneak preview of the property of your choice. The best part of that feature is that you don’t have to navigate to a different page. These features are outstanding when trying to decide in a neighborhood you would like to stay at.
I remember the first time Kenny suggested we stay in a hostel. I immediately expressed to him we were not staying in a dorm or sharing a bathroom. Little did that I know some hostels are very nice and offer private rooms. It’s rare we stay in hostels. But the times we did, we booked a private room with a bathroom. When booking a hostel we use hostelworld.com. The platform is reliable, legit, and it’s safe to book. Each hostel has a lot of reviews so you know what to expect before you book. If you plan to book a hostel, please click the link so we receive a small commission that will help keep us on the road!
